I Done It

This past Sunday my post was about a challenge I had given myself -- to randomly pick one scrap of scrapbook paper from my stash and make something with it. Well, this was the scrap I chose

And this is what I did with it

I'm gonna do it again!

Scrap Happy

I love reading about all the challenges for papercrafters that are out there on different craft blogs, but I've never had the courage (?) to try one. Since I want to play too, I decided to challenge myself!

I was cleaning up my craft room the other day and was amazed and appalled at the amount of scrapbook paper scraps I had accumulated. To give you an idea, if I was half my age, I would have enough paper for projects if I did one each day, and would never have to set foot in a craft store. But to get back to the challenge --

Tomorrow I'm going to close my eyes and randomly pick a scrap (it has to be at least 8x10 to qualify)of paper and make something with it. Sounds like fun, right? Well, you'll want to follow me on this one for sure. Check back to see what lucky piece of paper was chosen!

I'm so excited! I hope I can sleep tonight.

LOL Cats

Every once in awhile my inner sophmoric funny bone gets tickled (seriously?) and I just have some good old embarrassingly loud laughs. Well, there was no stopping when I found the website icanhascheezburger.com. It combines adorable animal pictures with the funniest text I've seen in a long time. It's hard to explain and you really have to get it to think it's funny, but here are just a very few that I have in my library.

A Dove Called Noah

A good friend of mine sent me this story in an email and I just had to share it.

These bunnies, about 6 days old, were attacked by a dog and orphaned. Two out of the litter of five did not survive, and these three were not doing very well.

Noah is a non-releasable, one-legged homing pigeon/rock dove that is in the rehab centre.
Noah kept going over to the bunny cage and looking in -- even sleeping in front of the door to the cage.

Then, suddenly, there were only two bunnies in the cage. But when Noah moved a bit from the front of the cage, to everyone's surprise... there was the tiny bunny... under Noah's wing... sound asleep! That little bunny rabbit had crawled through the cage, preferring a featherbed, no doubt to snuggling up with its littermates!

Now, they are all together and the bunnies are doing GREAT. When the bunnies scoot underneath Noah's feathers, he carefully extends his wings out to surround them and then they snuggle. When one of them moves and they start sticking out here and there, he gently pushes them back under him with his beak! It is beautiful and amazing to see...

This is what God does with us when we need the warmth and love He offers. He gathers us under His loving wings to a warm cradle of protection. All we need do in return is give Him the thanks and praise for being with us.

He will cover you with His feathers
And under His wings you will find refuge.

Pretty Krafty

The newest notecards at Ladybug Lane and Co. are designed using kraft paper, something I've never thought of using before. My inspiration? A gift wrapped with kraft paper and tied up with a simple black and white grosgrain ribbon. It just struck me! The last one is more masculine, but guys need thank you notes, too!

So here they are! Each design comes in a boxed set of 8 for $8.95 (plus shipping) at ladybuglaneandco.etsy.com

A friend of mine sent these pics to me and I just had to share this unbelievable sight. The first glance is so awesome that you hardly have a chance to realize that the subject of these photos are aerial views of tulip fields in the northern part of the Netherlands. And just for the record, they grow 9 billion bulbs a year!
