So True

Since it seems that time is going by faster and faster, I saw this quote and thought it timely. Hope you agree:

Memories which are important yesterdays, were once todays. Treasure and notice today.

Is It True?

I just read on Etsy that if you document the process of creating your products and let viewers see how it's done, they will be more interested in your work and, therefore, make a purchase. Please comment on this and let me know what you think.

By the way, I'm not talking about a boring documentary, just pictures on Twitter or Facebook or, I guess, even your blog.

Thanks

More "Babyliciousness"

I've really been busy building up inventory for my new Etsy shop, Your Baby Bliss. Photos below are just a taste of what the shop has to offer. Don't really know how this all got started -- I guess I've been thinking a lot about my two of my favorite things (food and babies) a little too much lately. I even designed a new set of baby gift enclosure cards to go with the sweet theme. Anyway, please visit at yourbabybliss.etsy.com as well as my first baby, ladybuglaneandco.etsy.com.

Your Baby Bliss

I'm proud to announce the birth of a brand new baby etsy shop!!!!! It's called Your Baby Bliss and it will sell all baby stuff. I've only got one thing listed at this time, but I will definitely have more up this week.

I put together the gift sets myself and wrap. I'm also hoping to take my gift sets to some baby shops in town and see they're interested in some wholesale. Please visit at yourbabybliss.etsy.com later this week (or right now, if you want) to see more goodies. Everything will be "babylicious"!

Copics Continued

Several posts ago I admitted to being a copicaholic -- one who is addicted to copic markers. And now that my collection is almost complete, I have decided to do something with them. But one does not instantly just start coloring away with copics. You have to know how to correctly color with copics -- and it takes practice!

There are techniques involved and tutorials (so many tutorials) on how to color! This ain't your childhood coloring book coloring! Anyway, I purchased the special paper (oh, yes, there's special paper) and began practicing. I'll show you my practice page if you promise not to laugh. I go out of the lines, but there's a special copic marker to fix that -- I just have to watch a few more tutorials!

My copic collection

I know what you're thinking -- really!

Dont' Give Up

Just proved that prayer and persistence (in that order) go a long way in getting what you want.
Proven albeit on a small scale, but it can be applied to other situations.

Okay, promise you won't laugh -- but for a long time now I've been trying to learn how to layer images in the Gimp Image Manipulation Program. I knew it would provide a great medium in my card making. Not good at reading directions in the first place, but add that to the fact that the directions were written with someone who had a good handle on using Gimp in mind, and I spent a lot of frustrating hours behind my computer.

Yes, I reached out for help from an actual human, but couldn't find anybody who was willing to save me. So, with a whole day ahead of me (yesterday), I decided to devote that day to learning on my own. It took lots of googling, trial and error, prayer (yes, I said prayer), cursing (sure that wiped out some of the prayer), reading others' helpful and not so helpful tips (I found out along the way that some people were worse off than I was), before I actually figured it out.

I was exhausted! But I now have cracked open the door to a whole new world of cardmaking (for me, anyway). Today is practice day.

Already?

Can't believe it's time to start thinking about Christmas! So that's what I'll do this beginning of August -- think about it.
